The Westport Charter Boat Association is a Washington State non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and supporting charter fishing in Westport, Washington. We serve as the collective voice of our member charter boats, providing marketing, community engagement, and the annual fishing derby that attracts anglers from across the Pacific Northwest.
Conservation has increasingly become the guiding principle in fishery management and sustainable fisheries have become the goal of long-range fishery planning in our State. WCBA is dedicated to fishing in a manner that conserves our valuable fishery resources for future generations.
WCBA works with State, Federal, and Tribal fishery management entities to attain fishing seasons that are both people and fish friendly. We participate in the gathering of scientific data required to manage the fisheries and work with the United States Coast Guard to ensure our vessels are safe and comfortable.

The Westport Charter Boat Association was founded in 1957 for the purpose of promoting charterboat fishing for salmon in the Westport, Washington area. What started as a small group has grown into an organization whose members fish for salmon, albacore tuna, halibut, lingcod, and many varieties of rockfish.
Over the past seven decades, millions of people have experienced the thrill of landing a salmon, lingcod, rockfish, albacore tuna, or one of many other species that inhabit the waters off Westport. The Westport Fishing Derby has long been one of the most anticipated events in the Pacific Northwest fishing community.
Westport itself has a rich fishing heritage dating back over a century. Known as the "Salmon Capital of the World," the town's economy and culture are deeply intertwined with commercial and charter fishing. Charterboat fishing in Westport is part of our common heritage in Washington State, and the Westport Charter Boat Association is proud to be part of this legacy.
