It looks like it was a bit tough today comparatively to recent days, mostly Coho today with just a few Chinook. Fishing was up North off Copalis 35 to 150 feet of water. The Ocean was a bit rough this morning but calmed later on.

July 30th, 2015 5:18 PM
It was a good day for most, the Ocean was a little kicked up but Chinook fishing up North off Copalis in about 150 feet of water was probably the best. The Ocean will be a bit rough the next few days for the smaller private boats.

July 29th, 2015 5:09 PM
They went North, They went South, and they went in between and all in all it was a good day with most coming back with at least a fish in the bag. More Chinook than Coho right now. The wind blew a bit in the afternoon not sure if that really affected anything or not.

July 27th, 2015 5:04 PM
The Northwest wind was blowing this afternoon. Most boats were still fishing up North outside the Casino in 300 feet. It looked like fishing was not all that hot today.

July 27th, 2015 3:16 PM
Fishing was about the same as the day before, we had some nice Chinook out deep and some Coho near shore.

July 26th, 2015 5:06 PM
It was another day about the same as yesterday. We had mostly Chinook not very many Coho. Fishing was out deep off the Casino in about 300 feet, and the fish were deep too.

July 25th, 2015 5:06 PM
It was mostly Chinook today, fishing was best up North off the Casino in about 300 ft and the fish were anywhere between 50 and 200 feet. Nice Ocean.

July 24th, 2015 6:06 PM
Up off the Casino in 35 feet we did fairly well with the Chinook, and had some nice Coho too. It was a long day and we probably end up with better than a fish per person.

July 23rd, 2015 5:13 PM
The Chinook catch rate improved today with most fish coming off the Quinault Casino area in shallow water. The coho that were caught were also very nice. Not everyone caught limits but I would say at least one fish per person.

July 22nd, 2015 3:58 AM
The ocean was still a little kicked up so our boats didn't head out into the deep water. The catch was mostly Coho again today, they are nice size for this time of season. maybe the ocean will cooperate tomorrow and we can get to those Chinook.

July 21st, 2015 4:51 PM
Today it was mostly Coho and very few Chinook. Most boats fished the shallower areas. The Ocean has been a bit rough but tomorrow it is suppose to lay down a bit. So the word is there are some nice big fat Chinook out in the deep water. Weather permitting most everyone is going there tomorrow. We will see what the report brings for tomorrow.

July 20th, 2015 6:15 PM
Mostly limits of coho today. About two miles out and four miles north was where some found success. Beautiful weather tho so enjoy!

July 19th, 2015 6:23 PM
Somewhat typical day like the past few days have been. Doesn't seem to be any hot spot yet. A little choppy on the water but not bad.

July 18th, 2015 5:27 PM
Beautiful weather for fishing. Ocean was pretty quiet. Boats kinda scattered today looking for the mother lode. Most all boats had fish but we're looking for bigger ones!

July 17th, 2015 7:42 PM
Nice day for fishing but the fish didn't know that. For the most part the bite was a little slow. Catching some inside and outside the bar crossing.

July 16th, 2015 5:58 PM
Typical day somewhat like yesterday. Some went north about 45 minutes while others stuck around outside the bar. A little on the choppy side today and it was a slow day fishing with most boats coming in after 3:30.

July 15th, 2015 5:23 PM
We were all over the Map today some fish were caught South of the South Jetty some on the bar but it was a tide bite, and some were caught up near the North Bowl (no I don't know exactly where that is). It was not a Gangbuster get your fish and back to the dock early type day and the ocean was a little prickly.

July 14th, 2015 7:12 PM
Most boats did well today despite a little rough ocean. We had some dandy Coho and it looked like most boats did well with the Chinook too. I wasn't able to nail down anyone on location of the fish.

July 13th, 2015 6:37 PM
Another day of mostly Coho with a few nice Chinook mixed in. Most fishing 8-10 miles offshore. Tuna are close and I heard of one boat on a combo trip actually had tuna. Some boats are already running tuna trips or starting later this week.

July 12th, 2015 6:20 PM
The Chinook were a bit off the bite today, don't really know what happened, yesterday was awesome, maybe they are moving through, there will be more. The run is not over by any means. I saw mostly Coho today with a few Kings mixed in, not too many Pinks. I am not sure where the best spot was, the boats were fairly spread out.

July 11th, 2015 5:41 PM
If you were in the right area out about 10-12 miles a bit SW of the Harbor the Chinook fishing was very good and most had limits of both Chinook and Coho. More of the same should be on tap for tomorrow. There was a not forecasted front that came through, and then the Ocean got fairly nice.

July 10th, 2015 7:25 AM
Another great day with some very nice Chinook! Most everyone got to take one home. Coho are getting bigger every week and most people took one of those home too. The area is 8 to 12 miles off shore.

July 9th, 2015 5:58 PM
It was good Chinook fishing for most today and I saw some really nice fish up at the derby weigh station. The Coho are starting to show some size also. From what I heard fishing was anywhere for 12 to 20 miles straight out of the Harbor. The ocean was fairly flat too so it was a Great! day.

July 8th, 2015 5:09 PM
It was a mixed bag again today most boats did well, some got more Chinook and some got more Coho just depended upon where you were at the right time. The ocean was nice and the sky was a little overcast which made it a great day to be out fishing.

July 7th, 2015 6:07 PM
We did really well on the Chinook end of things today with most boats getting their (1) allowed Chinook. The Hatchery Coho were a little more elusive. The ocean was fairly flat today and looks to be the same tomorrow.

July 6th, 2015 6:48 PM
Once again, what a difference a day makes. Most boats were back to the dock early with a limit of Chinook and most of the Coho too. Fishing is about 15 miles out of the Harbor. The ocean was nice too.

July 5th, 2015 5:39 PM
Seems we had a swarm of Wild Coho today and some Pinks mixed in, not too many Chinook, of course you never have too many Chinook. I think we may be between Chinook runs. Things should improve on the Chinook front, sooner or later there should be a strong run coming our way. Please remember that this report is history now, this is what happened today and most likely fishing will be different when you get down here.

July 4th, 2015 7:14 PM
Salmon fishing was very good again today with a mixed bag of Chinook, Coho, and Pink. Most boats fished about 7 miles out from buoy 8. Rockfish and Lingcod did well also. The bar was a little rough in the morning but the ocean was better than expected.

July 2nd, 2015 4:51 PM
Fishing was fairly hot today with most salmon boats in early just after noon. It was a good mix of mostly Coho today with some nice Chinook and some pinks thrown into the lot. The ocean was a little better than expected as far as swell. Fishing was all over the map no one place in particular did better than another. I would start at GH buoy then maybe continue West from there.

July 1st, 2015 5:26 PM
Salmon fishing is going "GANGBUSTERS". There are Coho in good numbers right around GH Buoy and then there are some Chinook straight out of the Harbor about twelve miles. Most everyone got limits for the boats today. The swell is up and tight, so the smaller boats should probably stay in

June 30th, 2015 5:03 PM
The Salmon bit early this morning and it was limits for most. There was a good mix of Chinook and Coho about twelve miles out. Rockfish and Lingcod have been doing well in all the usual spots. The swell and wind looks to be up a bit for the next few days so the smaller private boats should be mindful of that.

June 28th, 2015 6:18 PM
Once again Chinook fishing was good. I am told the north Bowl is doing very well. Weather was a little bumpy this afternoon but tomorrow looks good. Rockfish and Lingcod also continues to be good. The usual rocks and pinnacles up north and also out deep for the Yellow Tails.

June 27th, 2015 6:26 PM
Weather was a lot better today and fishing for Salmon was way better than yesterday mostly due to better weather. I figure about 1 fish per rod. Mostly Chinook and a good place to start would be around GH buoy then go from there. Weather looks good for tomorrow and Monday.

June 26th, 2015 7:26 AM
The wind caused fishing to be a bit off today but I think most boats still caught good numbers of Chinook, looks better for Saturday.

June 25th, 2015 5:35 PM
Fishing continues to be great for both Chinook and Coho. Most boats were in early with limits. We weighed a 24 pound dressed weight Chinook at the derby station today (no derby ticket). Also weighed a nice 56 pound Halibut. Halibut remains open through at least June 28th in the near shore area. Weather looks good for the weekend too.

June 24th, 2015 5:48 PM
More of the same today, Salmon fishing was very good with most getting at least a fish or better. Lingcod and Rockfish were also very good and there were some huge black Rockfish caught. The ocean was flat with little or no wind. The Humpback whales are still out front too.

June 23rd, 2015 7:13 AM
Take yesterdays report and cookie cutter it. It was as good or better. Nothing has changed, same location out by GH buoy. Rockfish and Lingcod are still doing very well too.

June 22nd, 2015 5:26 PM
It was a beautiful day all around. The ocean was flat the sun made it out with little or no wind, and the best part was, the fish bit like "GANGBUSTER". I venture to say most everyone caught fish and they were treated to a Humpback whale show that I have never seen the likes of before. You know, they say, the best time to go fishing is when the fish are biting and that would have been TODAY! Call your favorite charter and get on down here asap!

June 21st, 2015 6:53 PM
Okay! here we go! Chinook fishing improved dramatically today. What a difference a day makes! Some fish were caught South off the windmills at about 40 feet and some Chinook caught drifting the bar too. I would say in the Chinook realm .5 to 1.0 per rod, and the coho bit too, about .5 per rod

June 20th, 2015 10:22 AM
Rockfish and Lingcod continue to be very good. The salmon fishing was fairly good if you happened to be in the right spot at the right time and you were holding your mouth just exactly the right way. some boats did as well as 1.5 per rod and some did .01 per rod. I think we will see better fishing in the next week or two.

June 19th, 2015 4:50 AM
Some boats did well today, I think we are on to something good here. Both Coho and Chinook were fairly good. Rockfish and Lingcod have been very consistent.

June 18th, 2015 6:02 PM
Salmon fishing for Chinook improved today and we had Coho also, boats are fishing south most likely off the windmills to Willapa Bay. Weather looks good for the weekend too.

June 17th, 2015 7:59 AM
Salmon fishing improved today with some boats getting at least their (1) Chinook, not too many Coho around yet. Bottom fishing continues to be great with the 30 fathom depth restriction lifted.

June 16th, 2015 5:35 PM
Bottom fishing outside 30 fathoms opened today and produced some nice lingcod and yellowtail rockfish. Salmon are still off the bite but the word is there is a large body of fish north of Westport and they will be heading this way hopefully sooner than later. Weather is still a bit of a factor for salmon but is looking to improve by the weekend.

June 15th, 2015 5:38 AM
The ocean was very choppy today and the wind was blowing sideways. Salmon fishing was not productive but the bottom fishing boats did well. We are getting this out of the way so that when it's your time to fish the ocean will be flat and the fish will bite like gangbusters.

June 13th, 2015 5:50 PM
The ocean conditions today weren't as good as forecasted and I think that affected fishing. Salmon was less than(1) per rod, however we did weight a few that went over twenty in the round. Bottom fishing was also affected by ocean condition and not all boats got limits.

June 12th, 2015 5:22 PM
Salmon didn't bite so well today (less than a fish per rod)overall. The wind was a bit of a factor. The bottom fish boats did well and there was a Lingcod weighed over 32 pounds. The weekend looks good with the winds toning it down a bit.

June 11th, 2015 4:34 AM
Salmon fishing was a bit improved today with close to (1) fish per angler. The ocean was a tad windy so most boats drifted the bar area. Rockfish and Lingcod bit well also.

June 10th, 2015 5:03 PM
Some boats went looking for Salmon out in the ocean but most or all fish were caught on the bar. About 1 fish per rod. Bottom fishing was very good today with limits of both Ling and Rockfish. It seems the weather has been a little better than the forecasts.

June 9th, 2015 3:24 PM
No Salmon boats out for Charters today. A couple bottom fish boats were out and it looks like they did quite well. The weather is a little fickle, it can't decide if it is going to blow or not, today it was calm this morning and then kicked up a bit in the afternoon.

June 8th, 2015 7:09 PM
Revised report: some boats may get out tomorrow

June 8th, 2015 2:51 PM
Fishing over the weekend was really good for Rockfish/Lingcod. Salmon catching still remains haves and have nots. The weather was suppose to be a factor on Sunday but that didn't materialize until today, and it looks like we are going to be tied to the dock until at least through Friday unless something changes. The weather is so much different here on the coast than it is inland even twenty miles.

June 5th, 2015 4:37 AM
Salmon catching was not too productive most boats fished south in 160 feet and then fished the bar on the way home. You had to be lucky today.

June 4th, 2015 5:08 PM
Salmon fishing was good today with an average of about close to 1 fish per person and better if you were a good angler. Some fish were produced off the Windmills in about 150 feet and then some were caught on the bar too. The wind kicked up a bit this afternoon, but wasn't bad. Weighed a nice incidental Halibut that is now tied for the season derby prize. Most charters have plenty of room for the weekend.

June 2nd, 2015 4:41 AM
Well today there were have and have no,t some people had and some didn't. Salmon fishing was productive in some places and not so productive in other places. The area south by the windmills was not and the bar was good. You need to work your bait too, that's important.

June 1st, 2015 4:53 PM
It was a much better day today on the Salmon front it sounds like there were some limits caught so it seems to be on the upswing. The boats were spread from the bar to Leadbetter point in about 150 feet.

May 31st, 2015 5:26 AM
Salmon fishing was a little better than opening day. I think it won't be too long before we get them dialed in. There are some fish south off the Wind mills in about 140 feet. Rockfish and Lingcod continue to do well.

May 30th, 2015 5:38 AM
It was the salmon season opener today and like many other openers the fish were like diamonds, few a far between. Rockfish and Lingcod were a different story they were like opinions, everyone has one. The ocean continues to be nice and calm.

May 28th, 2015 4:49 PM
Once again the ocean cooperated and was flat. The Lings and Rockfish bit and we hooked and released a few nice big Chinook. So maybe, just maybe, the Salmon opener will be good on Saturday. Hey! that's the day after tomorrow, and I hear their is plenty of room on the charters.

May 27th, 2015 5:25 PM
Mid week bottom fishing has been excellent with light loads and plenty of ling and rock. The ocean continues to be calm. Our Salmon season begins this Saturday and most charters still have room. So, if you have been thinking of getting out and trying to put some fresh ocean caught salmon on your table give your favorite charter service a call.

May 26th, 2015 6:32 PM
The ocean is flat and Rockfish and Lingcod are biting very well. Boy another one liner, but hey those are two very good things.....Flat Ocean........Fish biting. What more do you want.

May 24th, 2015 6:24 PM
It was a little misty this morning but no wind to speak of. That didn't affect fishing though. Limits of rockfish and a good amount of lingcod were landed. I heard of some Orcas being spotted around the bar area. The ocean continues to be calm and we are looking forward to the opening of Salmon season next Saturday.

May 21st, 2015 4:19 PM
I don't really know how to make this prettier than it is. The ocean is calm and the fish (rockfish and lingcod) are biting. It seems like we had a lot of people early in the Spring when the ocean was Knarly and the fish weren't really biting, where are all those people now, where have they gone. Sounds like I could make a song out of this.

May 20th, 2015 6:44 PM
Fishing once again was excellent today. The boat I checked had limits of rockfish and ling and one halibut exactly like the boat I checked on yesterday. The ocean looks good for the upcoming weekend. Come on down and take your holiday in Westport.

May 19th, 2015 6:29 PM
The ocean is calm fishing is great and it looks like the weekend will be awesome too. The boat that I checked had limits of both rockfish anf lincod and a halibut too. Eleven more days until the hatchery Chinook season opens.

May 16th, 2015 6:46 AM
Bottom fishing continues to be very good. The ocean is in good shape too, come on down and put some good white fish on your dinner plate.

May 14th, 2015 4:34 PM
Rockfish are catching good as well as Lingcod. The ocean is nice and looks to stay that way through the weekend.

May 13th, 2015 4:32 PM
Rockfish and Lingcod are doing well and the ocean was nice.

May 12th, 2015 6:02 PM
Halibut fishing was very good today for the charters not many private boats out. Lingcod did well also out in the deep.

May 11th, 2015 2:33 PM
Lingcod and Rockfish both bit well today.

May 10th, 2015 5:42 PM
Most everyone got their Halibut today and lingcod fishing was a bit off due to the rough ocean conditions later in the day.

May 9th, 2015 5:40 PM
Lingcod fishing was very good and the ocean was beautiful.

May 8th, 2015 5:18 PM
The Lingcod seem to be on the bite today and the ocean looks good through the weekend.

May 7th, 2015 4:44 PM
Lingcod fishing has picked up and it looks like the weather through the weekend may be good.

May 5th, 2015 6:35 PM
About half the charters got out today, maximum ebb tibe was just about the time we were heading out. Some boats got out early then some had to wait until after the ebb. Halibut did bite though and most everyone got there Halibut. Lingcod was a little off the bite.

May 2nd, 2015 6:35 PM
Little rough getting across the bar this morning. Fishing was good and the lings picked up a bit. Tomorrow is opening day of Halibut, the bar will be snapping in the morning but should settle later.

May 1st, 2015 6:34 PM
Lingcod fishing is picking up a bit. It looks like weather will cooperate this weekend at least for the Charter boats. Might be a bit bumpy for the smaller boats. If you are a private boat I recommend keeping a very close eye on the weather for this weekend.

April 26th, 2015 2:37 PM
I think the weather turned out better than the forecast today. Rockfish have been no problem but the Lingcod have been good weather dependent. So today was an okay day with close to one Ling per person.

April 25th, 2015 4:13 PM
The weather cooperated enough today that we got out and the ocean was fine. Lingod are still off the bite due to recent ocean conditions. Tomorrows weather looks a little bumpy, so a few boats may get out but it won't be calm seas.

April 24th, 2015 10:45 AM
No boats out yesterday and today due to weather. Looks like the weekend will be a go, so I will give you updates as we progress.

April 18th, 2015 5:14 PM
The weather was much improved today and along with that went good fishing although the Ling were still a bit off the bite. Tomorrow looks good.

April 17th, 2015 5:10 PM
Bar conditions hindered some of the charters this morning. It looks like the bar is going to be rockin' and rollin' tomorrow too. Please keep your seats while crossing the bar. Once out in the ocean things should get better. We have had limits of rockfish and the ling have been a little tougher to get although we have weighed some dandys at the derby booth.

April 16th, 2015 5:13 PM
The ocean was still a bit rough today but we did get out. The rockfish bit as usual but the Ling are still off the bite and this can be attributed to ocean current and chop. If you didn't get across the bar early you would have to wait until the flood. So it was an extra long day for at least one boat. Better weather is forecast for the weekend.

April 15th, 2015 8:14 AM
The ocean is calming a little now and boats are getting out at least through the weekend. The Ling bite was off a bit today. I think that is due to ocean conditions. Things should improve through the weekend at least.

April 13th, 2015 4:00 PM
Weather is still affecting our ability to get out on some days like today and tomorrow. Better days are coming and when they do, you can bet fishing will be great.

April 11th, 2015 3:47 PM
No boats out today, Mother Nature is still dictating. The days we do get out rockfish and Lingcod have been very good. Our derby fish for the week was 33 pounds 4 ounces. Stay tuned! Better weather is coming and it is going to be an awesome season.

April 4th, 2015 4:20 PM
I apologize to you all that have been waiting for a report here. Mother Nature is playing games with us so far this season and only a few boats have made it out. Seems like she likes to kick up her heels on the weekends. Lingcod and Rockfish have bit well when we are able to get out. looks like the next 4-5 days the weather will be better. We are fishing in the typical spots northwest. I will put up another report next weekend then try to go daily after that. Thanks for your patience, and get ready for another great season of Ocean fishing
