Fishing continues to be good with mostly coho but they and they are getting up to 10-15 pounds. Haven't heard where they are fishing but not too far as boats are getting in around noonish......get'em while you can as the quota is quickly approaching!

September 8th, 2014 9:08 PM
Much of the same kind of fishing today except the absence of chinook being caught. Still up north a ways and doing well with catching them silvers which are gaining a little weight. Our reports here will be sporadic til the end of the season. We've gone to weekly Derbys so don't always hear about the hot spots but will try to get any "new hot spots" ASAP.

September 7th, 2014 4:33 PM
Fishing so been great especially for coho. Today saw a lot more chinook than the past week. Still going strong about 15 miles north and 8 miles away from land in about 150 feet of water.

September 2nd, 2014 5:28 PM
Fishing about 15 miles north. Getting mostly coho with a few chinook thrown in.

September 1st, 2014 5:21 PM
Didn't get much info today except those wild coho that were being thrown back now stayed in the boats!

August 31st, 2014 5:48 PM
Fishing about 16 miles to the south around the Willapa produced some nice chinook today and quite a few coho. Next couple weeks we hopefully should be seeing some bigger coho.

August 30th, 2014 5:36 PM
Some boats fishing down by the Willapa others straight out again a few miles. Still catching fish but coho were a little more prevalent today.

August 29th, 2014 6:33 PM
Assume fishing was in the usual spot...didn't get a chance to talk to any of the skippers. Still catching fish....anything goes effective Monday...chinook, coho, wild or hatchery.

August 28th, 2014 5:10 PM
I bet you can guess what and where.....Yep you guessed it...Out 15 miles and most boats are close to limits. I saw more Coho today.

August 27th, 2014 5:14 PM
We are sounding like a broken record here....same as yesterday.

August 26th, 2014 3:57 PM
If you read yesterday's's is a repeat! Don't know what more to tell is real good!

August 25th, 2014 5:17 PM
Again fishing continues to be fantastic....15 miles straight out again started coming in before noon with all but a handful in by three...bottom fishing, combos.

August 24th, 2014 5:27 PM
Fishing today about 15 miles straight out from Westport. Yielded about a 50/50 ratio of kings/silvers. Weathers great.

August 23rd, 2014 5:22 PM
Fishing today about ten miles north of the north jetty brought in a good assortment of chinook and coho with mostly limits.

August 22nd, 2014 5:29 PM
Much the same as in previous days. Bite seemed to be a little slower today. Good mix of chinook and coho probably a few more on the coho side.

August 21st, 2014 5:14 PM
Seems the catching was a little slower today and many boats took the 25 mile south. Still a good mix of Coho and Chinook. Not everyone limited but most came close.

August 20th, 2014 4:24 PM
Fishing was awesome today all charters were back in by 3:00 with what appeared to be limits for all. There seemed to be a good mix of Chinook and Coho. I didn't get the info on where everyone was fishing but I am sure it has been the same areas as in the past few days. I will get better info tomorrow.

August 19th, 2014 6:13 PM
Southwesterly course....17-20 miles...I guess between the Willapa and Ledbetter....charters had no problem getting fish today...started arriving back at the docks around 11:30 this morning....considering the run they made limits were caught pretty quick.

August 18th, 2014 5:23 PM
Same type of report as yesterday about 17 miles south. Boats started coming in around noon with limits. New derby leader at 34-5 today. Lots of nice fish...some boats had mostly kings....others coho.

August 17th, 2014 5:48 PM
Another pretty good day of fishing down south 20 miles or so. Out in deep water fishing 100 and up. Been like that. Some smaller boats still going north of the casino and finding fish also.

August 16th, 2014 8:26 PM
Kinda the same as yesterday. Out pretty deep though maybe 300 feet and fishing 100 and up. Flat ocean today. Nice weather.

August 15th, 2014 5:48 PM
Most of da boats went south today, like 20-23 miles off the Willapa with good success for kings....not so much for da coho but still saw quite a few just not enough for limits for all.

August 14th, 2014 5:16 PM
Just North of the North Jetty and South of the South Jetty fishing was pretty good and there were some sweet Chinook landed.

August 13th, 2014 5:34 PM
Fishing seemed to go well today in spite of the wind and rain. Most everyone had at least (1) fish in the bag and some dandy Chinook. I think a lot of the boats went 25 to 28 miles south today although there are still plenty of fish just north of the Jetty.

August 12th, 2014 6:03 PM
Seems like different boats tried different places. Some went south around the Willapa, some went north of the north jetty. Seems they all had good luck. Not all limits but everyone had at least one fish with quite a few chinook.

August 11th, 2014 5:36 PM
Today was a little better than yesterday with quite a few nice kings being weighed in. The fleet seemed to mostly travel south today about 20 miles or so to find them.

August 10th, 2014 6:40 PM
Fishing was not like yesterday....kind of went off the bite what with the full moon last night. They must have stayed up all night eating. Usual places were tried, 20 miles out, close to the bar and up the casino way. Don't get me wrong, there were fish caught just not like prior days. Oh we'll, that's fishing. The bite will be on tomorrow!

August 9th, 2014 5:32 PM
Fishing inside the bar or just outside was the spot for kings today. Coho were a little farther out, like 15-20 miles northwesterly.

August 8th, 2014 5:10 PM
Fishing just outside the bar today producing some real nice chinook 15-22 pounds. Weather has been great.

August 7th, 2014 5:10 PM
Salmon fishing is going well with some dandy Chinook being caught. The hot area is a few miles north of the North Jetty in about 30 to 50 feet. Seems to be an abundance of Coho out a little deeper in about 90 feet.

August 6th, 2014 7:38 PM
It appeared most boats did quite well today. Weighed several Chinook around 20 pounds dressed weight. Most boats were fishing just North of the North Jetty a few miles in about 30 to 90 feet of water. Weather is great once the morning fog burns off.

August 5th, 2014 5:08 PM
Much the same as yesterday. Fishing up past the north jetty brought in some nice chinook.

August 4th, 2014 5:43 PM
Some boats are going out about 17 miles and catching. Others going a little north and closer to shore and landing fish. Take your pick.

August 3rd, 2014 5:59 PM
Didn't get a chance to talk to any boat Captains today so I assume they are still plugging away in the same spot they have been. I'll try to find out more info tomorrow.

August 2nd, 2014 5:55 PM
Fishing the heck out of that location and still catching.

August 1st, 2014 5:07 PM
Same old, same old. Not much to add. Straight out....23 miles...put your line in the water and catch some fish!

July 31st, 2014 5:08 PM
It's the same report 23 miles out mostly Coho with some nice Chinook mixed in.

July 30th, 2014 4:29 AM
Still fishing straight out of the Harbor 23 miles. More Coho than Chinook.

July 29th, 2014 5:07 PM
More of the same...still going straight out maybe a little north about 20-23 miles. New season king leader today at 30 pounds 10 ounces.

July 28th, 2014 5:07 PM
Another day of fishing out there. Wind is still around but they're still catching fish. Same areas as before.

July 27th, 2014 5:29 PM
Much the same report as previous days. King bite was a little off but those that weighed had 12 to 21 pounders. Wind is picking up in the afternoons so might be a little sloppy out there.

July 26th, 2014 5:34 PM
Things haven't changed much. Some great fishing as in previous days. Twenty-three miles straight out from the harbor. Weather was fantastic today so bring the sunscreen!

July 25th, 2014 5:25 PM
Same as yesterday. About 23 miles straight out. Some nice chinook but the coho are getting a little bigger.

July 24th, 2014 5:19 PM
Well folks I must admit I listened to the wrong person yesterday and he had his direction a little off. The fish are 23 miles straight out West of the harbor. We had some nice Chinook but not as many as Coho and the Coho are getting bigger by the day.

July 23rd, 2014 5:37 PM
Had a rough start this morning due to weather but the day calmed and the fish bit, so it all turned out good. Successful fishing for Salmon took place approx 23 miles North of the North Jetty and some dandy Chinook were caught at 30 feet and up.

July 22nd, 2014 5:22 PM
Much the same report as the last few days. Not much changing just yet.

July 21st, 2014 4:46 PM
Good day on the water today. Pretty smooth. Fishing up by the casino again about 100 feet of water. Mostly coho with five or six chinook per boat...some did better than that.

July 20th, 2014 5:15 PM
Same kind of report as yesterday. Mostly coho today. Ocean was pretty calm made for some good fishing.

July 19th, 2014 5:32 PM
Fishing was good today with a kind of the same kind of bag limit as yesterday....more coho than chinook. Some went straight out again...others went up by Copalis in 100 feet of water and did quite well.

July 18th, 2014 5:33 PM
Fishing today out to the northwest about 16 miles to about 300 feet and fishing 60 and up. Coho were the catch today with a smattering of chinook.

July 17th, 2014 5:42 PM
Some tried the same spot as previous days. Others tried a little north but closer to shore. And others were scattered a little. Still were successful...maybe not limits but probably a little over one per with maybe 38% chinook.

July 16th, 2014 5:59 PM
A cookie cutter day just like yesterday. Same place, same depth, same limits of Chinook, and Coho. Less crowded on the boats mid-week of course.Weather a little bumpy tomorrow but still very doable.

July 15th, 2014 6:19 PM
Fishing for Chinook still remains great with mostly limits. Fishing NW about 16 miles at 300 ft. Weather could be a factor for the smaller boats the next few days.

July 14th, 2014 5:37 PM
Never gets tiring putting out the same information. Kings early then getting the silvers. Same place just south of the casino....60-100 feet of water.

July 13th, 2014 5:50 PM
Much the same as previous days. Five to six miles out not quite to the casino. Kings were the catch of the day with some coho thrown in quite a few bags.

July 12th, 2014 5:31 PM
Much like the past couple days. Five or six miles north, casino area, fishing close to shore. Early king bite made it great. A silver rounded out most fishers bags.

July 11th, 2014 6:10 PM
Mostly limits today with a lot of chinook mixed in. Fishing area about the same as before just took a little longer to get them.

July 10th, 2014 5:15 PM
Salmon fishing off Westport continues to be as predicted one of the best seasons ever. Boats are going out about 6 miles north of the north jetty. Limiting is the norm. The mix is more on the Coho side recently but will fluctuate from day to day. Let's just say it's "GANGBUSTERS" so Annie get your gun and go fishin'.

July 9th, 2014 4:06 PM
Okay, here's a report for you all. All Charterboats limited on Salmon today! Most boats were back to the dock before noon. It was about a 70/30 split Kings to Silvers. So quit wishin' and go fishin'.

July 8th, 2014 5:07 PM
Albeit a light wind blowing, most boats limited and were back in early today. Some boats did really well about 6 miles north of the north Jetty.

July 7th, 2014 5:52 PM
Water was a little on the sloppy side today. Wind picked up making it that way.

July 6th, 2014 8:11 PM
Fishing remains steady probably averaging about 1.25 per. Lot of nice kings in the low 20's. One over 28 today.

July 5th, 2014 5:42 PM
Fishing out northwesterly about 15 miles. Weather was good...ocean was was mostly great with a lot of chinook being caught.

July 4th, 2014 5:45 PM
Fishing about 10 miles straight out today. Fishers had to work that bait though.

July 3rd, 2014 5:22 PM
Another great day in Westport. Most boats got limits or close to limits and the Chinook fishing seemed a little better today. I weighed some really dandy Chinook at the weigh station with the largest at 22 pound 14 ounces dressed. All conditions look really good for the weekend. Fishing out SW at off Shoalwater Bay in 300 feet.

July 2nd, 2014 7:16 PM
Most boats were out off Shoalwater Bay Casino in 300feet fishing deep for Chinook with lots of Coho on the surface. Most boats limited today. I saw some dandy Coho up at the weigh station today, they seem to be large for this time of year. Ocean conditions look favorable for the near future. Come on down for some awesome fishing.

July 1st, 2014 5:45 PM
Fishing picking up...going out 15-20 miles S.W.

June 30th, 2014 4:58 PM
The bite was pretty good in the morning then kind of went off. Fishing a little ways straight out.

June 29th, 2014 5:57 PM
Bar was a bit rough this morning forcing closure for those under 30 feet. Once over the bar the ocean was decent. Heading north past the casino now. Bite has been a little off because of the weather.

June 28th, 2014 5:17 PM
With the weather fishing changed a little. Not so many limits but at least one fish in most bags.

June 27th, 2014 7:48 PM
Weather caused most of the charters to stay in today. Those that made it out caught fish, not limits, but some fish. Still going south. Pretty choppy out there this morning but calmed a little later in the day. Tomorrow may be a bit sloppy also.

June 26th, 2014 5:07 PM
Fishing slowed for Chinook a bit today, but it look to me like most boats still got limits. The weather may be a factor again for the smaller boats tomorrow.

June 25th, 2014 8:06 PM
Salmon and bottom fishing was excellent again today with limits for all. The Chinook were of the bite today and catch was mostly, say 80 percent Coho. Can't really give one location as fish were caught everywhere. Fridays weather looks a little iffy so keep that in mind for all the smaller vessels. We don't want anyone getting hurt.

June 24th, 2014 5:08 PM
Same o same o.....ocean was a little choppy today but didn't prevent the limits to keep coming in.

June 23rd, 2014 4:29 PM
Fishing is still great. Charters started coming in around 10 this morning. Fishing a little south now. Getting a little rain this afternoon.

June 22nd, 2014 5:21 PM
Never gets tiring to sat fishing is still great. Still hitting the same spots.

June 21st, 2014 7:03 PM
Another stellar day of fishing. Going south a little from straight out and out to 200 ft.

June 20th, 2014 5:58 PM
And another good day of fishing with mostly limits. Fish moved around a little today so it took a good effort to catch them. Weather continues to be close to great with outlook tomorrow much the same.

June 19th, 2014 4:52 PM
Another good day of fishing. Basically going straight out to 200 feet of water and fishing 120 and up. New yearly leader today at 29-1.

June 18th, 2014 4:08 PM
Fishing continues to be fabulous with the charters starting to come in around eleven. Ocean is still pretty calm. Lots of fish being caught....salmon and bottom fish.

June 17th, 2014 4:26 PM
Fishing much like yesterday....lots of coho with chinook thrown in. Nice lings being caught now that they can go into deeper water. Good weather, good ocean.

June 16th, 2014 5:35 PM
Great fishing today. Going north past the casino in about 200 feet of water. Boats were in early with their limits. Started showing up in port around 12:30. Weather was nice but a little bumpy on the ocean.

June 15th, 2014 5:27 PM
Much of the same fishing today. Still south for the most part. Getting them chinook and coho!!!

June 14th, 2014 5:17 PM
Good fishing day. About 20 miles south in 300 feet of water. Fishing 120 and up. Lots of coho and chinook.

June 13th, 2014 6:57 AM
Just five boats made it out today. Weather wasn't good. Just one salmon trip. Saw a few bags of fish. Hopefully they can get out tomorrow.

June 12th, 2014 5:04 PM
Fishing was really good again today in the same spot as yesterday. We are going to have a weather change here tomorrow and most if not all Charterboats will not be going at least for tomorrow. We hope Saturday will be doable. You small private boaters need to stay home at least for Saturday.

June 11th, 2014 5:17 PM
Today was a great day for Salmon fishing. The ocean was fairly flat and the fish bit like "Gangbusters" Yes it's true. Most boats were out South about 18 miles in 300 feet. The fish were 120 feet and up. A lot of Wild Chinook and Coho are in the same area so when the all species season opens on Saturday it should be wide open. Come on down! fishing is hot!!!

June 10th, 2014 6:40 PM
Yesterday wasn't to good. With only about for boats fishing for salmon with light loads results were about two fish per boat. Today was another story. Those fishing in close, around buoy 8 between the jettys, had good luck. Averaged about one per rod, maybe a little better. Those out searching found a few but not like those in close.

June 8th, 2014 5:15 PM
Little better ocean today....pretty smooth. Fishing started out just outside the bar then some went a little north and some just tried different areas.

June 7th, 2014 5:22 PM
We're still out there hunting. No particular place to go. Some success up by the casino but nothing earth shattering. Little windy out there again today.

June 6th, 2014 5:22 PM
Much of the same fishing. In other words still searching. Fishing in all areas of the ocean.

June 1st, 2014 5:28 PM
Good ocean today with beautiful weather. Fishing a little better than yesterday.

May 31st, 2014 5:16 PM
A little bumpy on the ocean today for the chinook opener. Some got their limit, some got one and some got nada. But it was the first day!

May 24th, 2014 5:25 PM
Ocean a little bumpy today. Taking a little time to get the fish. Next Saturday.......Salmon!!!

May 18th, 2014 7:23 PM
Smooth ocean today. Lots of halibut caught....probably reaching our quota. Plus lots of nice lings being brought in.

May 13th, 2014 6:08 PM
Another beautiful day in Westport. Ocean was great. Fishing was great. Getting the halibut and good sized lings too!

May 13th, 2014 6:08 PM
Another beautiful day in Westport. Ocean was great. Fishing was great. Getting the halibut and good sized lings too!

May 11th, 2014 6:32 PM
Beautiful day on the ocean again. Anglers getting their halibut and lings this gorgeous day. Charters started coming in at 2 p.m. And filtered in til 6.

May 10th, 2014 5:16 PM
Great day for fishing...pretty calm. Bringing in lots of lings and rockfish.

May 6th, 2014 6:13 PM
Good day fishing for the first day of halibut fishing. Everyone got one plus lings too.

May 3rd, 2014 1:54 PM
No fishing today due to weather....and tomorrow's halibut opener is also canceled for that same weather! We need a break from these storms....people want to go fishing!!!

April 25th, 2014 6:58 PM
The ocean was pretty decent today and the weather was nice. A few guys said the bar was a little rough but not bad. Catching some lings but not limits. Let the seas calm down and they'll be there!

April 25th, 2014 5:22 PM
Fishing a chore today what with the weather the way it is. A few lings were caught along with the rock fish. Weather tomorrow will keep most boats in.

April 19th, 2014 3:35 PM
There was one Charterboat out today and the skipper said he wishes he hadn't gone. Weather was everywhere from nice to nasty. Fishing was okay but nothing huge today. Swells will be up too high tomorrow to get out. Hope we can catch a weather break here soon

April 13th, 2014 7:04 AM
Beautiful day for fishing...ocean pretty calm...lots of happy fishers...getting some nice lings along with their rockfish.

April 12th, 2014 5:19 PM
Good fishing today...ocean swells not bad...nice sunny day made for good fishing. Hope it stays like this for a while!

April 6th, 2014 8:06 PM
Good day on the ocean and pretty good fishing. New leader on the ling board...37-13. Little calmer seas improves everything!

April 5th, 2014 5:34 PM
The weather is making it a little challenging for the lings but still managing to get a few. Tomorrow is supposed to be a little better!

April 5th, 2014 5:10 PM
The weather was a bit of a factor along with currents. Not everyone caught there Lingcod but it looked like most everyone caught the Rockfish. The weather is going to be much better for at least the next few days.

April 2nd, 2014 4:56 PM
Some charters got out today and it looks like fishing was very good. We weighed a 27 pound 4 ounce Ling at the derby weigh station. Looks like weather may be a factor for a few days.

March 23rd, 2014 8:09 PM
Another good day on the ocean. A little chilly in the morning but a good day for fishing. Getting the rockfish and lots of lings too!

March 22nd, 2014 6:36 PM
Nice ocean today...nice weather with a slight chill this morning. Great fishing with lots of rock fish and lings.

March 19th, 2014 7:20 AM
Here we go with another fishing season at Westport and it looks like it will be a good one. We got off to a non starter on Saturday the 15th and the first boat got out on the ocean yesterday for Rockfish and Lingcod. The boat limited on both so it looks as if the bottom trips will continue to produce good catches. It looks like the weekend is going to be fairly calm so give your favorite charter service a call and come on down, and don't forget to buy a derby ticket.

March 18th, 2014 3:38 PM
First day to actually get out on the ocean and do some fishing. The day was decent and the ocean wasn't bad. Anglers had a good day with limits of rockfish and lings. Next couple days are iffy due to weather conditions.
