Tuna fishing has been real good about 50 miles out. Ocean conditions recently have been a bit of a problem some days. If you are scheduled for a trip be sure to check with your charter service before leaving for Westport. Lingcod and rockfish have been doing well recently also.

August 27th, 2016 2:25 PM
Tuna fishing has picked up in the last week, the fish are out a good 60 miles but the counts have been good. Rockfish are doing well but the Lingcod have been off the bite lately. By the time you get here the Lingcod will probably be back on the bite.

August 25th, 2016 4:59 PM
Salmon is done for the season on the ocean but there is still some good fishing available with Rockfish and Lingcod still going good. It sounds like the Tuna fishing pick up a bit today but still quite a distance out.

August 21st, 2016 7:57 AM
Today is the last day of Salmon fishing on the Ocean in area 2. It was another tough day for catching a Chinook. Tuna fishing was fair with the two day trips coming in with respectable catches. The tuna are out about 60 miles which makes the one day trips a bit iffy.

August 19th, 2016 8:18 AM
Salmon fishing remains about the same as it has been the last weeks. The tuna boats are leaving this evening so we will see what the catch is on Sunday

August 16th, 2016 4:56 AM
More of the same today for Chinook. We hope the Tuna are still there when we will be able to get back out as the weather has kept us near shore all week. Even the big commercial boats are still tied to the dock.

August 14th, 2016 5:19 PM
Once again the Chinook catch was about .5 per angler. Offshore weather is going to keep most tuna trips from taking place for the next few days.

August 12th, 2016 7:59 AM
Chinook catching was a bit slow to say the least. I think some boats will be heading down into area 1 today to try there luck on some Coho. Albacore are way out so the WTC boats will have a long day tomorrow.

August 10th, 2016 5:08 PM
It was a good day for catching chinook, I would say about 1.5 per angler and some nice size ones also.

August 9th, 2016 9:34 AM
Once again we had some dandy Chinook but most boats are not limiting out about .5 per angler except the six man boats seem to be able to get to them and get the limit. Albacore Tuna are out about 65 miles so the 2 day trips are working best, especially if there is a little lump on the ocean. The numbers of Tuna caught are very good.

August 8th, 2016 5:42 PM
We had some nice size fish today, wish there were more to fill our bag limits. The ocean was beautiful.

August 5th, 2016 7:46 PM
It was a little lumpy this morning and the catch rate dropped off a little because of that I think. High pressure will be building in and the winds will be dropping off for the weekend.

August 4th, 2016 4:37 AM
Another good day of catching Chinook, the ocean was a bit wrinkly though.

August 3rd, 2016 5:18 PM
Most boats did well today, some anglers had two in their bag but yet there were a few that came up empty handed.

August 2nd, 2016 4:59 PM
It was probably the best day of the season today. Quite a few boats with limits and near limits of Chinook.

August 1st, 2016 5:04 PM
Chinook fishing seemed good today, we saw some nice size fish and averaged about 1 per angler. The ocean kept most of the smaller boats in the marina but the ones that were out did well. Weather looks good for a couple days.

July 29th, 2016 4:58 PM
Chinook fishing picked up quite nicely today I would say 1 to 1.5 fish per person average. We are off the ocean tomorrow due to High Winds and Swells.

July 28th, 2016 5:06 PM
It turned out to be a much better day than it looked like first thing in the morning. We had some really nice Chinook today with the largest dressing out at 25.65 pounds, and an overall average of about 16 pounds per fish. We are keeping our eye on weather for the next couple days.

July 27th, 2016 5:19 PM
Fishing was little slow has been straight out in about 200' of water.

July 26th, 2016 5:09 PM
Chinook fishing looked like it picked up again today. I saw some guys walking up the dock with 2 fish in their bags. Tomorrow the weather looks okay but we are watching it closely after that.

July 25th, 2016 5:53 PM

July 24th, 2016 3:23 PM
Fishing was kinda rough today, wind, current and finicky fish. Most tuna trips were cancelled due to rough seas out on the tuna grounds.

July 22nd, 2016 5:41 PM
Looked to me like it was a mixed bag again today I would say the Chinook take home was about .50 per angler. Rockfish was good and the lingcod were a bit finicky.

July 21st, 2016 5:13 PM
Wishing all these Coho that aren't suppose to be here this year would go away so we could get our Chinook. We did well with the Chinook today though.

July 20th, 2016 5:45 PM
Chinook fishing was kinda of spotty today some boats got limits and some didn't. Most boats are fishing straight out of the harbor in about 200 feet.

July 18th, 2016 4:34 PM
Chinook fishing continues to pickup. Today most Salmon charters caught from 3/4 of a limit to limits. We have less than 4 weeks left of our Salmon season so if you want a Chinook in 2016 time is fleeting.

July 17th, 2016 5:41 AM
Again some boats limited on Chinook and you had to be in that lucky spot at the right time. Rockfish and Lingcod are still biting well also. Ocean conditions look good

July 16th, 2016 5:34 PM
Chinook fishing greatly improved today with some boats coming in early with limits.

July 15th, 2016 7:17 AM
Seemed to be a better day for Chinook and of course if you were on a bottom fishing trip you did well. Should be more Chinook headed this way in the near future.

July 14th, 2016 5:45 PM
The ocean was fairly Gnarly today but most boats stayed out and fished, I believe the weather affected the catch rate somewhat. Rockfish and Lingcod bit okay and a few Chinook were landed, quite a few hatchery coho were released.

July 13th, 2016 5:06 PM
Fishing was about the same as yesterday not too much on the size and the Chinook were like diamonds, few and far between.

July 12th, 2016 7:11 AM
Chinook catching was mixed today, a few lucky boats limited and some just had a few. Tuna fishing has been very good. Rockfish and Lingcod are also holding up well. The ocean might be a bit lump from Friday on through the weekend.

July 11th, 2016 7:04 PM
Rockfish and Lingcod were on the bite today, not so much for the Chinook but folks got to play some Coho that had to be released. Albacore are about 40 miles offshore so if you can get away on a moments notice there are some early trips available. Ocean conditions look good.

July 10th, 2016 7:17 PM
Sounds like another tough day for Salmon catching today although I do know of a boat with a short load got his limit. I think the storm residual didn't help.

July 8th, 2016 5:43 PM
Just as we are getting better catches of Chinook the weather is going to bite us tomorrow, all charters as far as I know will be cancelled. We had some dandy Chinook today it seems that the Chinook are running 15 to 25 pounds so that is a good sign that we will have bigger fish this year. Rockfish and Lingcod are also still on the bite. So no fishing tomorrow but Sunday looks like a go.

July 7th, 2016 4:51 PM
Once again we saw improvement in the Chinook catch, although you still had to be in the right place at the right time. Rockfish bit well but Lingcod were off the bite a bit. Ocean conditions may be a little lumpy through the weekend for the smaller boats, nothing most Charters won't be able to handle.

July 6th, 2016 3:51 PM
The Chinook seem to be nice size today though still elusive seems to be improving daily.

July 5th, 2016 7:27 AM
Chinook are still very elusive, Rockfish and Lingcod are still biting well. Ocean conditions are fair at least though today, may be a little wind Thursday afternoon.

July 4th, 2016 5:08 PM
Happy Independence Day! Not much effort today due to the Holiday, and the catch rate is still a bit sketchy for Chinook. Rockfish and Lingcod are still going strong. Ocean conditions look good all week.

July 3rd, 2016 5:11 PM
Chinook still seem to be a bit elusive for the Charters boats. There are some Chinook deep off the Willapa Bay. But getting them to bite seems to be the task. Once again we did have a 23+ on the derby board. Lingcod and Rockfish continue to bite well. Ocean conditions are improving throughout the week.

July 2nd, 2016 5:26 PM
You had to be in the right place at the right time again today in order to catch a Chinook. although the derby winner was over 28 pounds. There may be a few five year olds out there this season. Rockfish and Lingcod did well today. The Ocean will be a bit lumpy tomorrow morning and then should calm somewhat in the afternoon.

July 1st, 2016 5:54 AM
The Salmon opener was a bit slow, hopefully we will find some better catching today. Lingcod and rockfish are still biting well. There are some humpbacks out here right now so ya might get to see them.

June 29th, 2016 5:29 PM
Rockfish bit well today, the Lingcod were a little pickier. Don't know why that is but I have theories about it. Maybe it had to do with the big swell. The weekend looks good for opening day of Salmon fishing.

June 27th, 2016 5:52 AM
Rockfish and Lingcod continue to bite well, weather should be good through the end of the month. Salmon season begins Friday July 1st.

June 19th, 2016 4:12 PM
Rockfish and Lingcod continue to be very good. The weather looks good all week.

June 16th, 2016 7:56 AM
Deep water opened for Lingcod today and fishing was excellent. Limits of both Lingcod and Rockfish was the rule. More of the same ahead.

June 14th, 2016 5:56 PM
It was another great day for fishing in Westport, most caught limits of both Lingcod and Rockfish. Boats are very light loaded mid weeks. So, if you can get away from work, come on down. Deep Water opens on the sixteenth so we should have some opportunities to catch some bigger Lingcod.

June 10th, 2016 5:03 PM
Weather turned on us a bit today so it was a little rough making it hard to get all the Lingcod. It looks like it may be a bit rough in the morning tomorrow also, then it should get better throughout the day.

June 8th, 2016 6:24 PM
The ocean was real nice today and fishing was awesome. More of the same tomorrow.

June 5th, 2016 6:36 AM
Rockfish and Lingcod continue to like to eat the bait. The Ocean conditions are awesome. Mid-week fishermen are few so if you would like an uncrowded experience come on down.

June 4th, 2016 10:46 AM
Rockfish and Lingcod have been biting very well and the Ocean condition is cooperating also. Looks to be a great weekend.

May 30th, 2016 6:18 PM
Didn't get a chance to talk with any skippers today but it looked like everyone had big bags of fillets.

May 29th, 2016 7:00 PM
What a difference a day makes. Most boats did very well today with some very nice Lingcod and limits of Rockfish and the ocean was much nicer. Looks like High pressure is building in so fishing should be good this week.

May 28th, 2016 10:33 AM
The Ocean was miserable today, some boats stayed out and knocked out a limit of Rockfish, not much in the way of Lingcod. It will be better tomorrow.

May 26th, 2016 3:51 PM
Both Lingcod and Rockfish bit really well today. It looks like after tomorrow the ocean conditions will improve for the Memorial Day weekend.

May 21st, 2016 5:01 PM
The Ocean was a little nicer today but the Lingcod catching was still a bit scratchy, the Rockfish bit well though. Weather should not be a factor in the near future.

May 20th, 2016 5:12 PM
It was another tough day for catching Lingcod. I think it was the remnants of the low pressure system that went through yesterday. I am hopeful for the weekend though and the ocean is calming down.

May 18th, 2016 4:06 PM
Catching Lingcod was a bit slow today as we have a low pressure system coming in and all trips that I know of are cancelled for tomorrow. Friday looks much better and we will be back on the ocean.

May 15th, 2016 6:05 PM
Rockfish and Lingcod continue to be awesome. The ocean condition looks good too.

May 12th, 2016 7:08 PM
The directed Halibut season is closed and we have a small nearshore halibut (incidental) quota that should last a couple weeks. Now is a great time to come on down and maybe just maybe snag a Halibut too. The weather looks calm through the weekend. Lingcod and Rockfish are on the bite.

May 8th, 2016 6:50 AM
All Charters are cancelled for today due to weather and in agreement with WDFW. We will have one more day of the directed Halibut season here in Westport. The near shore Halibut area may remain open depending on quota remaining after Tuesdays poundage count.

May 3rd, 2016 6:04 AM
Day 2 of our Halibut season was awesome. The weather will keep us in on Wednesday. Hopefully we can get back out on Thursday.

May 2nd, 2016 4:52 PM
Opening Halibut day was a great success yesterday and lingcod bit too. Tomorrow looks to be another perfect day for the Halibut.

April 30th, 2016 7:02 PM
We had a little bumpy ride out this morning but the wind subsided a bit in the afternoon. Lingcod fishing was awesome and we even ended up with a new season leader. Halibut season begins tomorrow and weather for the charterboats looks good.

April 27th, 2016 6:18 PM
It was an excellent day on the Ocean. Fishing for both ling and Rockfish were good. Weather looks good for the next few days.

April 23rd, 2016 6:22 PM
We got out today and Lingcod fishing seemed to be really good. We weighed some dandies up at the weigh station. Some of which didn't have a derby ticket so they had NO chance of winning the prize.Tomorrow will be a no go as far as weather.

April 17th, 2016 4:58 PM
It's been a beautiful weekend here in Westport. Bottom fishing has been very good although the currents have been ripping, so getting down to the Lingcod has been an effort. Most boats are lightly loaded for the mid week and it looks like the weather is going to be fairly nice all week.

April 14th, 2016 4:39 PM
Looks like the Charters are going to finally get back out on the Ocean tomorrow. The weather looks good for the weekend also.

April 8th, 2016 6:02 PM
It was a little bumpy and windy out on the ocean today. The catching turned out pretty good though with boats getting close to limits of both Ling and Rock. This weekend it looks better

April 2nd, 2016 7:54 PM
It was another great day out on the big pond. Fishing was once again awesome and the first boats back with limits of both Rockfish and Lingcod hit the dock about 2:30. The ocean looks good for tomorrow with a slight possibility of rain.

March 30th, 2016 7:09 PM
We had a few boats out today. The weather was nice, the ocean was flat, and this fish bit like gangbusters! It was a great day at the coast.

March 27th, 2016 11:00 AM
No fishing today and it looks like tomorrow will be out also. Tuesday looks like a possibility.

March 26th, 2016 5:35 PM
We had good weather today but the current was ripping fast so it was hard to get down for the Lings. Tomorrow weather could be a factor for some boats.

March 20th, 2016 6:17 AM
Another good Spring day out on the Ocean. The Wind and rain came up earlier than expected but that didn't stop the fish from biting. Most boats had limits of both Ling and Rock. Weather will keep us off the water at least until Tuesday.

March 19th, 2016 5:23 PM
We had a very good turn out of fishermen today and most all were rewarded with a bag of rockfish and lingcod. The ocean was fairly flat and the wind was down too. Some of the boats got in a little extra bonus of seeing the Gray Whale migration in progress also. This time of season you have to keep a watch on the weather so when you see a break come on down, fishing is great.

March 18th, 2016 2:13 PM
The Ocean has calmed a bit and the charters that have been out have had good numbers of both Rockfish and Lingcod. This weekend looks good enough to go.

January 8th, 2016 5:24 PM
Just as we are getting better catches of Chinook the weather is going to bite us tomorrow, all charters as far as I know will be cancelled. We had some dandy Chinook today it seems that the Chinook are running 15 to 25 pounds so that is a good sign that we will have bigger fish this year. Rockfish and Lingcod are also still on the bite. So no fishing tomorrow but Sunday looks like a go.

January 1st, 2016 5:18 PM
Fishing was little slow has been straight out in about 200' of water.
