Untitled DocumentAugust 1st, 2017 10:02 AM Salmon and bottom fishing remain relative the same which is fantastic news. Just talked to one of the skippers who said how big the Coho have been for this time of year.
Tuna right now off the Columbia for best fishing. Also straight out but better south once they hit clear blue. Water warm even in side where it's still green. Nothing wide open yet. Average 50 a day.
July 29th, 2017 9:41 AM Fishing was fairly hot with most boats off GH Buoy. A mix of Chinook and Coho. Bass and cod have been elusive with boats traveling quite a drive north. Albacore boats are returning with good numbers.
July 27th, 2017 9:22 AM Pretty much the same as the last few days. Getting limits with mixed Chinook & Coho. Same areas being fished. Limits of rockfish daily. Lings have moved quite a bit north.
Best get your reservations finalized for albacore as they are filling up fast with good numbers and sizes coming in. Weather look great for the next few days.
July 24th, 2017 3:32 PM Salmon limits of both Chinook and Coho once again. A bit of wind and swell kept some of the boats off the ocean yesterday and today but the ones that got out found great success. Boats fishing straight out from GH buoy. Leading Chinook of the year to win the $10,000 derby prize weighted in at 21.95 pounds.
Albacore boats continue to bring good numbers and nice size for this early in the season.

July 22nd, 2017 5:54 PM Great fishing today in 80-100 feet of water straight out and a bit north. Most charters got their limits of Kings A number of boats filled in the balance with some pretty nice Coho. Combo salmon/bottom fish trips brought home limits of both salmon and rockfish. Great ling cod fishing on bottom fish trips as well on the north bowl. Smooth ocean. Let's hope for more of the same tomorrow!
July 21st, 2017 10:59 AM The day started off great with the early boats in with limits of Chinook & Coho. Most boats were fishing south of the Jetty in about 45 feet.
Saw one charter come in with 80 albacore. Biggest one about 33 pounds. Nice ocean today.

July 20th, 2017 7:03 PM Salmon Fishing is HOT! Early limits of both Chinook and Coho mixed. Starting Saturday you can keep two Chinooks or two Coho or one of each.
July 18th, 2017 6:15 PM The recreational fishery out of Westport will change to a bag limit of any 2 salmon starting Saturday, July 22nd. This means 2 Chinook hatchery or wild, or 2 hatchery Coho, or one of each.

July 7th, 2017 6:02 PM How to put a positive spin on the fishing report? Fishing is OUTSTANDING .... catching salmon....not so much. Salmon season has started out on the slow side, rock fish and ling cod trips still GREAT. We are catching mostly Chinook with the derby winners in the high teens. The old salts tell me not to worry, every day on our beautiful ocean is a new one and there is always the chance that tomorrow there will be a nice big salmon with YOUR name on it.
July 6th, 2017 6:05 PM First albacore tuna trip left out tonight. Will report back to see how they did. All reports is for an outstanding albacore season. Not too late to get a reservation on the books but you had better hurry! Once the bite is on, trips will fill up fast. Ahoy!

May 21st, 2017 6:25 PM Halibut fishing were limits for all and great ling cod as well. Rockfish limits continue to be expected.
We have caught all of our quota for the 2017 halibut season. The incidental fishery and near coastal are closed as well. Westport had 10,600 pounds of quota left going into Sunday, May 21st, and there was 16,220 pounds caught on Sunday, May 21st.
May 16th, 2017 4:58 PM Weather and ocean conditions are continuing to effect fishing. However, rock fish and ling cod fishing has been staying consistently good. Halibut fishing is now open for one more day, Saturday, May 21. Weathermen are predicating better, more normal weather after Thursday of this week.
